I’ve always been drawn to creativity, though I can’t take full credit for how it started. As a highly committed younger sister (my sisters would probably use the word “annoying”), I followed my older sister into just about everything she did. She painted, so I painted. She baked, so I baked. If she picked up a new hobby, chances are I wasn’t far behind.

The only thing I couldn’t follow her into was music. She has a wonderful ear for it. I, unfortunately, was blessed with two left ears. Some talents are simply not meant to be copied.

My oldest sister was into writing. Thankfully for the world, I knew better than to compete there. I let her keep that one.

Growing up, I trained in Indian classical dance forms including Bharatanatyam and Kathak, where I learned discipline, storytelling, and the beauty of artistic expression. That love for creativity has stayed with me and continues to shape everything I do.

A few years ago, I made a promise to myself: every year, I would learn something new outside of work. That challenge has led me down many creative paths — from mousse cakes, sponge cakes, cheesecakes, mochi, and stuffed cookies to exploring different artistic mediums and techniques.

My baking philosophy is simple: less sugar, more flavor. I prefer desserts that allow the ingredients to shine, where you can truly taste the chocolate, fruit, nuts, spices, and textures rather than just sweetness.

My artistic journey began with watercolors, moved through pastels and acrylics, and eventually led me to oils, which I currently love working with. That said, I still find myself moving back and forth between mediums depending on what inspires me.

I don’t claim to be the best artist, baker, or creator—and that’s perfectly okay. Every painting is a lesson, every dessert is an experiment, and every project teaches me something new. The joy, for me, is in the never-ending journey of learning, creating, and discovering what comes next.
